This is a restaurant with an airport attached
- not the other way around. Food, service, view, and ambiance
- The Prop Room scores
high in all regards and that is not just a claim but a published
fact. The Long Beach Press Telegram, in its "Readers’ Choice
Awards" gave The Prop Room top honors for Best Sunday brunch
and Most Romantic (the view is spectacular at night with Signal
Hill twinkling in the background and the sun setting behind the
tarmac). Breakfast, lunch and dinner menus offer crowd-pleasers
as well as those for the diet conscious. Many low carb options
are available.
The staff is adept - they seem to know instinctively who’s
got a flight to catch in a hurry and who can linger over coffee.
And while ordinary airport
restaurants know their customers are a captive audience, The Prop Room does
not exploit that. Prices are very reasonable.
Even if you aren’t flying off or flying in, The Prop Room is a delight.
Parking is convenient, it’s open seven days a week and the original Art
Deco design, from the incredible Zodiac mosaic in the lobby to the broad sweep
of window and wall, make this restaurant a historic treasure. Call 497-0480
